Costa Rica Playa Tortuga, Costa Rica
Quiet beach in Ojochal, Costa Rica on the Pacific Side. Beautiful sunsets. There is also a chance to see scarlet macaws and shore birds feeding here. Not a good beach for swimming.
Photography Tips
Best light is late afternoon and for sunsets. In the late afternoon you can get golden, soft light that is good for photographing the shore birds. Be sure to check the tides before you go because the beach may be hard to access at high tide.
Travel Information
Beach is located off of the PacĂfica Fernández Oreamuno/Costanera Sur/Route 34 (main route along coast) immediately south of the village of Ojochal. It is also about 30 min south of Uvita. You make a sharp right off the main road (there is a small sign) and drive a short distance down a dirt round (if the water is high there is a small river crossing). There is a small parking area at the beach.
