The "Petřín Lookout Tower" is like the pragueish version of the famous Parisian Eiffel Tower. It is very similar but not that large.

Nevertheless, the tower is one of the highest buildings in the city of Prague and gives you the perfect possibility for a panoramic view over the river, the bridges, and the whole old town.

Photography Tips

The tower itself has two observation platforms.
I took the picture above from the second, the higher, one.

The platforms are surrounded by glass but there are windows that can be opened so don't worry you don't have to shoot through glass.

Breathtaking view! Many thanks for your description. I read that they have 299 steps, should be able to make it slowly and steadily. Two questions: can you drag a tripod up to the platform? if you wish to stay until dark, are the paths illuminated? Thanks again!

Thanks Alona, I'm glad it helps! I don't know if tripods are allowed up there. Even if they would be, I wouldn't recommend using one. On the one hand the space is really narrow, especially when you're not alone, and on the other hand the tower is very wobbly and shakes a little bit everytime someone takes a footstep. So a tripod ends up being useless. I don't remember lanterns next to the paths, but the way to the funicular isn't far at all. So just in case use the flashlight that is build into your phone. I think that works just fine. Have a great time shooting! :)

Yeah that's great and I would love to see everybody to do it in this way, because this would help us all so much, especially if you haven't been somewhere and just don't know about things like the windows you mentioned. Thanks again for your effort, I really appreciate that!
