Denmark Blue hour in Ærøskøbing, Aerø
This house is located in Ærøskøbing, which is the capital of Aerø. It is a great little town with beautiful preserved half-timbered houses, restaurants, and much more to explore. I would recommend coming in the afternoon to visit some shops. Have dinner afterward and take photos during the blue hour when the city lights are on and the streets empty. You can take pictures of pretty much every house when walking around! I would recommend the streets of Gyden, Brogade, and Smedegade.
Photography Tips
I used a low-angle perspective to frame this house in my image. I also waited for the blue hour and the city's lights to turn on for this pleasant atmosphere. It might be good to bring a tripod since it´s dark in the streets, and long exposure is necessary during this time of the day.
Travel Information
You can park your car on the marked parking lot at the harbor for free when I visited in the Summer of 2023. Driving around Aerø is relatively easy and very relaxing. There is not a lot of traffic, excellent road conditions, and the island is pretty tiny, allowing you to travel from one side to the other in around 30 minutes. You can only come here by ferry. Visiting the capital of Aerø, I would recommend parking your car and exploring the streets on foot since it is very narrow, and there are a lot of spots you want to visit.
