Egypt Cityscape of Alexandria

From this spot, you see downtown Alexandria from far away. Alexandria is such a beautiful city, with lots of history and beauty. This place gives you a break from the crowdedness and loud noises, which you can find here, especially in summer.

To get this close perspective of the cityscape, you need a telelens. Wear good shoes, you have to climb on big stones. It can be slippery, so be careful. Also, go before the sunlight completely leaves, otherwise, you will have problems seeing where you have to walk on the stones.
I took the picture in July, but I recommend visiting Alexandria in the time of September until May, in summer it is crowded and hot.

Parking and driving are not easy in Alexandria. It is a walkable city and you can use the old tram, which is a nice experience. The old blue or red ones are from the 70s. The tram doesn´t have a timetable, but it comes normally every few minutes. The closest tram station is "Al-Hidaya Tram Station". You enter the tram and a ticket inspector will come to you. Now you have to pay to get your ticket. It will cost around 4 EGP, which is around 0,08$ (2024). You can travel as far as you like with this ticket. But when you leave the tram, you will have to buy a new one next time. From the tram station, you have to walk 5-10 minutes to the spot. Taxis and Uber are also good possibilities. The taxis are yellow-black in Alexandria. If you want to use Uber, you need the Uber App. I recommend Uber in the big Egyptian cities, you know the price before and don't have to discuss it with a taxi driver, normally foreigners have to pay much more.
