Faroe Islands Snubbunar and Mylingur

This uniquely shaped mountain can only be reached after hiking several kilometers and climbing some of the hills and smaller peaks of the Faroe Islands. Is it worth it? Yes! Snubbunar is a 623m high perpendicular cliff, truly breathtaking!

Bring a wide-angle and tele-zoom lens when coming here. Even a drone could be excellent. You can get very close to the cliff; it's best to use a wide-angle lens to capture the entire scenery. You will also be able to see a lot of birds here since it's so remote! It is an epic spot for sunset!

You have to park your car at Tjørnuvík, where you can find smaller parking lots and a public restroom you may want to use before starting the hike since it's pretty long. Follow the old trail connecting Tjørnuvík and Saksun for a few kilometers, climbing up the village's hills. When you reach the highest point turn off towards the ocean to the West. GPS is a must, the weather can change within minutes, and getting lost up here is dangerous as there are very steep drops, especially along the coast where there are perpendicular cliffs of up to 600m! If you end up losing the trail you can work yourself closer to the spot by using GPS. Hike from Tjørnuvik: roughly 6 hrs, 1200m climb in total there and back.
