Faroe Islands Old Postman‘s trail
Until 2004 (when a tunnel was built) the Old Postman‘s route was the only connection to Gásadalur. The mail was delivered 3 times a week, the postman must have been fit! You get great panoramic views of the surrounding islands along the hiking path.
Photography Tips
Take as much as you‘re prepared to carry for 3-4 hours (return)
Travel Information
Parking at the trailhead on the Southern side of the trail (coming from Bøur you turn left into a dirt road a couple of hundred meters before the tunnel). Either return on the same path or hitch hike back through the tunnel (which may not be easy as there is not an awful lot of traffic). Decent hiking boots recommended, especially on the Gásadalur side, which is steep and slippery.
