Finnish Lapland offers excellent conditions to marvel at the Northern Lights during the season between September and March. Especially at the top of Ukko-Luosto, there is a great panoramic view in every direction, especially towards the north with a clear view.

Photography Tips

Wide angle, most open aperture that is possible, tripod and lots of batteries! Make sure your settings are set to manual focus and look for the right sharpness. The image stabilization on the lens should also be switched off.

Travel Information

The way up from the parking place is around 2km to Ukko-Luoston Maisematupa. During winter you need around 45 minutes. Be prepared with really good winter clothes. It could be really cold up there during the night!
