Finland Pyhäjärvi, Pyhä-Luosto National Park
In winter, the lake "Pyhäjärvi" with its thick layer of frozen ice offers a good and quick option to marvel at the Northern Lights in a fairly open area. You only need a few minutes and you'll be standing on it looking north.
Photography Tips
Wide angle, most open aperture that is possible, tripod and lots of batteries! Make sure your settings are set to manual focus and look for the right sharpness. The image stabilization on the lens should also be switched off.
Travel Information
There is an adjacent parking lot at the Kurulas Resort. From there, it is a short walk through the forest to get to the lake. Find out beforehand whether the lake is still accessible and whether the ice is hard enough. Pack some warm clothes. The nights in Finland can be very cold!
