Soutaja-Tunturi offers an alternative to Pyhätunturi and is almost completely unfrequented. Here you will also meet other winter sports enthusiasts on the signposted trails for snowshoes. Once you reach the top, there are many snow-covered fir trees and a beautiful view of the lake below, which is frozen in winter.

Photography Tips

With a 24-70mm or similar lens you can cover many different perspectives without having to change lenses in the cold. Play with the tops of the trees and possible cloud formations.

Travel Information

The hike from the marked point is just under 3 kilometers and takes a good hour at a decent pace. Snowshoes are recommended. The snow is quite deep, especially on the last section uphill.
