Another good spot for taking pics of blossoming lavender is on the D8 from Valensole direction NE. This spot has an old stone building in the middle of the lavender field and is particularly nice if you arrive before sunset.

Photography Tips

Nice with normal or even wide angle lense (I used 24mm for this pic) if you walk into the field close to the stone building.

Travel Information

Easy parking on the roadside. You are probably NOT alone around sunset so it is best to walk some 300m into the field toward the stone house.

It is a bit depending on what region you are going to. This region here (Plateau de Valensole) is a bit higher up in Haute Provence hence the best time to see full blossom is July, Alongside the lower Rhone valley the full blossom can usually already be seen in June. Good luck!
