France Saint Honorat fortress, Lerins Island

Even without aerial, the island is a quick escape by bus boat from Cannes city. This spot is about a fortress with a small cloister inside. What is nice for the aerial shot fan (with a drone) is that this area is (for now) okay to fly (but you need to stay under 50m) and of course, you cannot fly over the Lerins Abbey for privacy. Yet around the fortress is fine.

Better to go there end of the day to get low light from the back. Yet you need to pay attention to the last boat time and give yourself 10-15 to walk back to the other side of the island to catch the boat. Another way is to go in December or begin January as you have low light earlier. This panorama was shot around 2 p.m. at the end of December.
The area will be also quieter as even if not so many people come up here, there is more boat on summer week-end.

You could go if you have a boat but the easiest is to get the bus boat from Cannes (15mn ride). You can park in the large park in Cannes (fee) in front of the harbour start. End-2019 prices are 14€ for adults and 9€ (for kids up to 10). Island and fortress visit is free.
