France Bird park of Pont de Gau
This park is specialized with birds as a reserve near the large Gines swamp. The entrance fee is moderate and you can spend quite some time to watch crane, flamingos in particular some in their nest from hidden place. Depending on season, you can see various species and youngs. They do feed the flamingos at some planned hours
Photography Tips
You still some telephotos and 300mm is a minimum. You are welcome there with tripods, 500mm or more large lenses. You can wait until the sunset to see the flamingos take off and then exit the park. The park is closed before but allow you to stay in and exit with a turning gate
Travel Information
The park is on the road to Saintes Marie de la mer. There is a very convenient small hotel near teh entrance Hostellerie du pont de Gau with an excellent restaurant by the way (after a full day or afternoon of shooting you will enjoy)
There is a car park in front but beware as apparently quite some theft have been reported so don't leave your camera and big lenses
