France Bassin d'Arcachon
The Arcachon Bay (Bassin d'Arcachon in French) is a protected bay on the Atlantic Ocean in the southwest of France. There are oysters farms in the bay, which are quite famous. You can also see two wooden houses, the "cabanes tchanquées" on the island in the middle of the bay, the isle of the birds.
Photography Tips
You can take photos from the beaches around the bay, but you can also go on a boat tour in the bay, where you will get closer to the oyster's beds and wooden houses.
Travel Information
You can park in the cities around the bay, the most popular being Arcachon, Andernos and Lège-Cap-Ferret.
This is a very touristic area in summer but quiet out of the season.
