Saint-Étienne Cathedral is an imposing and majestic building, both for its size, the numerous monumental sculptures, the importance of its stained glass windows and its golden glow, which was due to the Jaumont stone. It was built from 1220 onwards at the instigation of the Bishop of Metz, Konrad of Scharfenberg.
