France Le Mont-Saint-Michel
Le Mont-Saint-Michel is a tidal island in Normandy, France. It was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1979. This place is especially famous for the tides which vary at roughly 14 meters between lowest and highest water marks.
Photography Tips
One of the best spots is right at the water's edge at sunrise. Due to the tides the landscape changes a lot. Keep in mind the tide tables as the meadows from which you are shooting from get flooded at high tide. Beware of the quicksand!
Travel Information
You need to cross the bumpy meadows to reach the water's edge. There are no trails and no paths, so watch where you step. Plan enough time if you want to reach this spot for sunrise. Rubber boots are recommended.
I also recommend staying the night at "Aire de Camping Car de Beauvoir".
