France The Lavender Fields of Bonnieux

Just on the north side of Bonnieux is an expansive lavender field at the side of the D36 which is easily approached. It gives a nice field with the intervening house and the village on the hillside for the composition.

Photography Tips

As always use a tripod. I think the setting sun gives the best lighting with the house and village front lit and some side lighting to the lavender. I used a telephoto to compress the house and village a little as I thought a wide angle gave too much lavender and made the village almost invisible in the distance.
