France The Sunflower Fields of Saignon
If you are looking to photograph sunflowers in southern France this, I think, may be the best spot. It is certainly the best I found. It shows well at sunrise when the plants are front lit, gives a nice intervening field of purple lavender and then the beautiful village of Saignon on the hillside.
Photography Tips
Come in the early morning to set up and wait for the sun to light up the flowers. The sunflowers usually peak in the second week of July and continue to mature from then on. Plan your trip accordingly.
Travel Information
Travel the D174 on the north side of Saignon; plenty of roadside parking.
