France Semur-en-Auxois

Semur-en-Auxois is a French commune with 4,068 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2021) in the west of the Côte-d'Or department in the center of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.
Semur-en-Auxois is located between Auxerre and Dijon on the Armançon in the Auxois region. The town is surrounded by the Morvan foothills, the Châtillonnais plains and the Autunois countryside.
My photo was taken from the Pont Pinard (from the west), a bridge over the Armançon River, with a picturesque view of the city's silhouette. The main focal point is the Notre-Dame collegiate church.

In Semur-en-Auxois, departmental roads D 980 (Châtillon-sur-Seine–Saulieu) and D 954 intersect. The A 6 motorway (Autoroute du Soleil) runs south of the town, the next junction is Bierre-lès-Semur (No. 23), 9 km from the city center

You can actually take “good” photos in any weather. But it's definitely more fun when the weather is good.

The bridge can be easily reached on foot from the town in 10-15 minutes.

The Semur-en-Auxois train station is closed, the nearest train station is Les Laumes-Alésia in Venarey-les-Laumes, 15 km away. It is served by TER Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regional trains (directions Dijon, Lyon and Paris). Montbard train station is 18 km away, also on the Paris-Marseille railway line. In addition to the regional trains, TGV high-speed trains on the Paris-Dijon route stop there (journey time to/from Paris-Gare-de-Lyon 1 hour).
