Georgia Shatili
Very unique and beautiful village. Great for astro photography because there's not much light pollution anywhere in the area.
Photography Tips
We got this shot with a EF24-105mm but as there are plenty of photo opportunities in the area, any decent lens will do. Tripod comes in handy, preferably with a weight as it tends to be windy in the valley.
In order to reach this spot you need to hike up the hill which can be steep. There's no particular trail to follow but there are some narrow walking paths.

Travel Information
Shatili is located in a valley near the Chechnyan/Russian border. It's about a five hour drive away from Tbilisi, mostly on unpaved roads. The scenery is breathtaking along this road, so you'll have plenty of photo opportunities. Parking is free and you have a couple of B'n B's in the area. Note that the location is very remote.
