Have you also tried the "Rheinsteig"? I walked some parts of this hike a little further up the Rhine, but I already read, that this part at St. Goarshausen is the most beautiful (and most exhausting) one. Katz Castle should also be visible from this hike. Hope it's the same beautiful view as from this spot, thanks for sharing Justin!

I'm in the area next week. I'll try to hike to Dreiburgenblick if possible. It is on the Rheinsteig route at St. Goarshausen and you should be able to see 3 castles (hence the name): Katz, Maus and Rheinfels. On top the Loreley should also be visible from up there. Fingers crossed I have time to go there and the weather is with me.
