Germany Mühlenmuseum Gifhorn
The „Mühlenmuseum“ is an accumulation of historic mills that have been moved to this little town in the northern part of Germany with lots of historic architecture right at the water.
Photography Tips
Come here late in the afternoon and bring a sturdy tripod and a graduate ND filter to control the highlights. A polarizer is also helpful - on a day with not a lot of wind, the reflections can be exceptional.
Travel Information
Take the Autobahn A2 from Berlin or Hannover and turn onto Highway B4 north. Drive past the town centre and turn right onto B188.
The Mühlenmuseum will appear on your right and there is a parking lot you can use.
From here - just explore the different trails.
Keep in mind that the Mühlenmuseum has an entry fee, last time checked it was 12EUR for adults and from March until October it closes at 17:00h.
Check online before going to make sure.
Otherwise, if it is closed, you can still take a walk around the other way by parking along the Konrad Adenauer Straße but you won´t get the same views as from the main entrance.
