Germany View down to Imperial Castle, Cochem

Nice spot to get a panorama of the Imperial Castle and the view down to Cochem. There is a street nearby, so please take care.

You might want to shoot a panorama out of vertical photos, because the view down to they valley is pretty wide so it very much depends on your lens if you might need multiple photos. In general I think it's pretty nice to see the full bend of the river within the valley. Therefore a wide lens is quite nice to have for this spot or a tripod with a panoramic head.

The best way to get to this spot is by car. There is a dedicated free parking space for this vista which is pretty easy to find.

It is also possible to hike to the spot from Cochem (approx. 30 min uphill). Walk up to the Castle and at the last junction before castle, turn right and follow the sign "Drei Kreuze". After the "Drei Kreuze" chapel, keep hiking up the hill through the forest until you get to the road. From there, you will see the viewpoint on your right.
