Germany Wolfpark Merzig
Founded and established in 1977 by Werner Freund (paratrooper, bear and wolf researcher, explorer and inspirational man, died in 2014, who lived and cried with his wolves and played the role of the alpha wolf for many years to study their behaviour) the wolfpark is a unique and one of the most breathtaking places in this area. You can visit different wolves from around the world and their packs in a big forest area, secured with fences of course.
Photography Tips
You should bring a telephoto lens to make the fence "invisible" and get the wolves on your film, even if they're not too close.
Travel Information
There is room for a lot of cars, directly next to the entry, which is completely free. You can entry after sunrise and should leave before or during sunset and shouldn't feed the wolves. There's a free tour an every first sunday of the month (also on feastdays and rainy days), where you can watch the researchers getting as close to the wolves as usual people to their dogs.
