Germany Uracher Wasserfall
Uracher Wasserfall is a beautiful small waterfall south of Stuttgart in Germany. The multiple layers of water falling down the stones make this a nice place for long-exposure photography.
Photography Tips
The place is restricted which means there is a barrier and you can not go inside the stream and you are limited to an area of a few square meters. So basically you have just very few options of composition. You can use lenses from about 16mm up to 50mm. Nothing more is in my opinion necessary. If you visit after the sunrise (which I recommend, because there could be a lot of people, especially during weekends), you actually do not need an ND filter that much, although it is always handy to have some. But more challenging can be if you want to shoot with a shorter time like 1/60s so it is good to keep it in mind. Unless you go there on a bright day.
Travel Information
You can take a road from Bleichstetten St Johann. After about 2,6km there is a small parking lot on the left. There is the entrance to the tourist path into the woods. If you do not have good tourist navigation I recommend using Mapy.cz. It is free and absolutely great nav for pedestrians. There are even the smallest forest paths available and the app is free.
The path is steep and wet with occasional stone steps. It is easy to follow since it is in a kind of "valley" between the trees. After about 1km walk through the woods, you will reach a tourist hut from which you already hear and see the waterfall. After another 800m, you reach the spot.
