Germany Castles of Dahn
Probably the best spot for sunrise pictures of the castles.
Photography Tips
In 2018 the tree on the left collapsed. In general foggy daytimes are perfect for this spot, since the fog might cover the landscape around the castle, adding a perfect mood to this photo spot.
Travel Information
When parking your car near the castle at the parking lot for the castle, you turn around and take the hiking path up through the forest for about 700 meters. While walking, you see on your left side a rock formation: you have to get on the other side of it. After walking for about 700m, you reach this long rock and can go back in direction of the castle, but on the opposite side of this rock to reach the rock called Haferfels.
Use a headlight, if you go there for sunrise, because the "path" is very narrow and using both hands is recommended in some situations.
The walk takes around 30 minutes.
