Today it is an impressive landmark and popular photo motif on the island, while in the past the Red Cliff on Sylt was used by seafarers as a guide in the North Sea due to its unique color. The imposing cliff stretches for around four kilometers along the beach between the villages of Wenningstedt and Kampen and is around 30 meters high. Especially in the evening light, the glow of the reddish color of the limonite sandstone clay gravel cliff is absolutely fascinating. this stack is in Latheronwheel harbour not HelmsdaleToday it is considered an impressive landmark and popular photo motif of the island, in the past the Red Cliff on Sylt was used by sailors for orientation in the North Sea due to its unique color.
