A nice view of the Three Countries bridge that connects Weil am Rhein (Germany) with Huningue (France). The bridge is located directly after the border from Switzerland to Germany.

Photography Tips

Come here in the evening to take shots during sunset and blue hour.
Best season is during spring or autumn when sunset happens in the direction of the bridge and the spot is less crowded.
When the lighting of the bridge is turned on the bridge first glows in a greenish light (see photo No. 1); after some time the light colour turns more into white (see photo No. 2)

Travel Information

The bridge is next to the Rheincenter shopping mall and can easily be reached by car. You can leave your car in the shopping mal parking.
Using the tram No. 8 this spot can also be reached from Basel using public transportation.

Great spot details dear Andreas. Already asked myself why the bridge is sometimes green and sometimes white, so that's a perfect description and helps a lot. I really like both images and you did a great job getting the most out of this place with this awesome sky!

Thank you Manuel, I was there mid April this year during an evening with not so good weather (and the temperatures we quite cold) which helped that really no one was at the riverside that evening. But from the litter which I saw there I could imagine that on warm summer evenings there will be for sure some people there which might limit you in the choice of a perfect position.

Guess then it was the perfect timing for this spot, because having such a nice sky with the clouds seems quite important for this view. It's so sad though that people are littering at such nice places like this one :-(
