Schmalensee is located close to Mittenwald.
You'll find the Luttensee in around 10 Min. driving distance and another 10 Min. hike.
The are has lots of opportunities to get great images either at sunrise or sunset.

Photography Tips

For this spot and pictures I tool sunset is the best option. Follow the railway tracks leading to the north and you'll find on the right hand side of the track great opportunities for sunrise pictures to take.

Travel Information

This is a private area (incl. all streets). Parking is an issue but as long as there are now crowds visiting the spot you may consider take one of 2-3 available parking slots along the road. Nevertheless, keep in mind that traffic signs tell not to enter the area. ;-)
