Germany Schwerin Palace

For centuries, Schwerin Castle was the residence of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and is now the seat of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Located on the castle island in the centre of Schwerin, it is the most famous and splendid of the over two thousand castles and mansions in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The history of Schwerin Castle goes back to the Middle Ages.

The spacious park surrounds the castle and was the centre of the Federal Horticultural Show in 2009. The castle garden is located directly on the castle island and is connected to the castle garden and Schwerin's old town via bridges.
