Germany Water mill Ladbergen

  • Please log in or sign up for free to see the GPS coordinates & weather for this photo spot
The picture shows the old watermill in the center of Ladbergen (southern part)

The smaller, southern part of the mill, also called old, "Lütke" or Frenking'sche mill, dates from 1748 and was then built as a Prussian treasury mill. It was therefore the property of the Prussian state at the time of Frederick II, which also explains the letters FR (Friedericus Rex) inscribed next to the year. Until the turn of the century, the half-timbered building served as a grinding mill and then as a wheelwright.
The newer, northern part of the mill was built in 1890 instead of its predecessor laid down and provided with a then-novel turbine drive.
