Germany Marksburg Braubach

The Marksburg is the only hill castle on the Middle Rhine that has never been destroyed! Very few exceptions such as Pfalzgrafenstein and the Marksburg have survived the times unscathed and today allow us to look back in the past centuries. The value and the importance of the Marksburg lie above all in its complete preservation as a medieval fortification.

Braubach is a tourist town located on the famous Rheinsteig hiking trail.
It is therefore better to go early in the morning or late in the evening. There are several good places around Braubach to photograph the castle.

Parking in Braubach is very limited. It is possible to travel from outside by train or bus.
