Germany Wasserturm Münster Geistviertel
The tower was built in 1900 or 1901 to 1903 on the Geist in an open field even before the planning and construction of the Geist quarter and reaches a height of almost 60 metres. The water tower was put into operation on 1 July 1903 and replaced the Buddenturm, which it had five times the capacity.
Stadtwerke Münster used the tower for drinking water storage and pressure equalisation until 2017. It is not open to the public.
Architectural design in the neo-Romanesque style and construction was in the hands of Stadtbaurat Merkens and Stadtbaumeister Drießen. Behind its striking façade is a riveted steel tank with a capacity of 2,500 m³. With its green copper roof, it has become the landmark of the Geistviertel. A special feature is the servants' quarters embedded in the water tower.
The tower was disguised as a church during the Second World War with a dummy extension and thus remained undamaged.

Parking is always difficult in the city centre, I would go there by bike. You are not allowed to enter the grounds.
