The history of the past half-timbered house in Alfeld, better known as the old Latin school, dates back to the Middle Ages. Has always been known as a school, but it fell into disrepair around the year 1600 and was renovated from the ground up.

Today, the house has been preserved as 400 years ago. Previously, the house served as an educational institution. Lawyers, clergymen and doctors did their training there.
