Germany Neues Schloss, Ingolstadt
Built as the palace of the "new fortress" from 1417/18 under Duke Ludwig the Bearded, the New Palace was completed around 1500. It played a pioneering role in the construction of modern palaces. It was used by the Bavarian dukes and electors until 1788, then by the military. Today the palace is home to the Bavarian Army Museum.
Photography Tips
You get a nice view from the other side of the new castle when you follow the pedestrian bridge over the Donau and get to the edge of the river.
