Germany Venner Moor, Niedersachsen
The Venner Moor is a 220.0 ha nature reserve in Lower Saxony. It lies in the district of Osnabrück between the towns of Venne and Hunteburg. What is particularly impressive here is the contrast between the monotony of the peat-cutting areas and the diversity of the renatured moor areas: decades ago, the rewetting and renaturation of peat-cutting areas was begun in some areas. Today, typical moorland plants such as sundew, cotton grass and peat moss grow here again. Many protected animal species have also found their habitat
