This is a beautiful place, especially in winter because there usually is quite a lot of snow. Hornisgrinde is the highest mountain in the northern Black Forest and offers a great view over the region.

Photography Tips

If you go there when there’s snow it might be quite helpful to bring snow shoes.

Travel Information

There are a lot of parking spots available at the Mummelsee, but when the weather is good it also can be quite crowded there. You can then hike up the last 100m in altitude difference.
