Germany Brühl's Terrace, Dresden
Brühl's Terrace is a historic architectural ensemble in Dresden, Germany. Nicknamed "The Balcony of Europe", the terrace stretches high above the shore of the river Elbe in a city that is quite large as measured by area relative to its half a million inhabitants. Located north of the recently rebuilt Neumarkt Square and the Frauenkirche, is one of the favourite inner-city places of both locals and tourists for walking, people-watching, and having a coffee.
Photography Tips
Use the morning hours to keep your picture deserted.
Sunrise will be coming from behind you, but you won't need that at all. This is a sunset spot, with the best view captured from the bridge (Carolabrucke) behind it on a good afternoon. You will instead need to rely on the street lights for this spot, so come here very early at around 5 am, as the street lights will be off by around 6.15 and the mood will also be gone with the lights.
