Just a few meters from the Dom you'll find the Zeughaus, at night you get a great reflection when the Spree is not flowing like wild.
The Zeughaus (Arsenal) is a listed building and the oldest structure on Unter den Linden Boulevard in the historic center of Berlin. Erected from 1695 to 1706 it was rebuilt from 1949 to 1967 as part of the Forum Fridericianum. Since 2003, it has been home to the Deutsches Historisches Museum.

Photography Tips

The Zeughaus in Berlin, now home to the German Historical Museum, is the oldest preserved building on Unter den Linden. Its Baroque façade, adorned with intricate sculptures, makes it a great subject for photography. Capture it head-on to emphasize its symmetry or from an angle to include the vibrant city surroundings. A wide-angle lens helps frame the entire structure, while shooting during golden hour enhances the warm tones of the sandstone. Reflections in nearby puddles or glass surfaces add creative depth to your shots. At night, use a tripod for long exposure to capture the illuminated details beautifully.

Travel Information

Parking spaces are marked on the map. You can reach the Zeughaus Berlin easily by public transport. Take the U5 U-Bahn to Unter den Linden station or the S-Bahn (S1, S2, S25, S26) to Friedrichstraße, both a short walk away. Trams M1 and 12 also stop nearby at Am Kupfergraben. Several buses, including 100 and 300, stop at Staatsoper, next to the museum. If you're walking, it's centrally located on Unter den Linden, close to Museum Island.
