Germany Raw Chalk Coast, Sassnitz
Wonderful place, the chalk cliffs on Rügen near Sassnitz are a landmark of the island and one of Germany´s most significant natural wonders. Beautiful colors meet here. The white rocks, the green forest, and the turquoise water. The coastline runs around 15 kilometers from Lohme to Sassnitz and is part of the Jasmund National Park, which covers around 3,000 hectares.
Photography Tips
Try it at sunrise to catch the glow at the chalk coast.
Be prepared to place your tripod (and feet!) into the sea to get the best shots. The tide and waves are very small, and the area is shallow, but you will need rubber boots/waders to get the best results.

Travel Information
A small number of parking places are available on market street.
A walk to the beach takes about 5 minutes through the forest, and then 5 - 10 minutes along the beach depending on how far up you want to go.
Good walking shoes are needed.
Make sure you don't park and block the circle indicated for parking. It is used by buses to turn around. There is plenty of space on the street just a little further up.
