Germany Eissee, Oberstdorf
The Eissee (Ice lake) is called this since most of the day it is covered by the surrounding mountains and just a limited amount of sun can reach it resulting in a large number of months per year being frozen or partially covered with ice.
Photography Tips
I used a tripod and self-timer to get this cool selfie with the lake in the background showcasing the size of this location. You can also go closer to the lake and use a low-angle perspective to push the reflection. I came here at midday, and the lake was pretty calm since the surrounding mountains protected it from the wind.
Travel Information
You can only get here by bike or on foot. I recommend renting an electric mountain bike to explore the Oytal and drive it to the Käseralpe. From here, you cannot bring a bike anymore due to the nature reserve area. It's another 3,5km and 400 meters in height hike, which takes about 90 minutes. It's a lovely valley, and riding your bike here is relatively easy, just before the waterfall, where the road becomes very steep.
