Germany Mindelheimer Hütte, Oberstdorf

The Mindelheimer Hütte is a lovely spot to spend time in the mountains. They have many rooms available, which you should reserve online before coming here. Enjoy your afternoon around the hut; the dinner will taste fantastic after an active day in the mountains.

I was hoping for a colorful sunrise when I visited the gut. Sadly the weather wasn´t ideal. It's still great to walk around and take some photos of the cabins during the blue hour when the light turns on inside. Sunset can be fantastic as well if the weather is clear!

Getting here takes a long walk and bike ride, but it is worth it. I rented an electric mountain bike from Oberstdorf to the Schwarze Hütte (roughly 16km long), where I locked the bike since you cannot continue from there due to nature protection. Just follow the trail from the Schwarze Hütte (it's well-marked). It's about 5km long, and the elevation is roughly 800m.
