The Johanneskirche is the largest Evangelical church in Gießen in the Central Hessian district of Gießen and has the highest church tower of all Gießen churches with a height of 72 meters. It was built in 1893 in a historicistic mixed style of neo -Gothic and neo -Renaissance. The building is Hessian cultural monument and shapes the cityscape.
