The Katzenbuckelsee is a volcanic lake.

Use an ultra-wide angle lens and a tripod. Sunset is the best time to take usable pictures. The sun is usually a big problem at this spot because the differences in brightness between the sky and the mountainside are enormous. To avoid a burnt-out sky, you can use GND filters, create an HDR or, if using a modern full-frame camera, greatly underexpose.

This spot is not reachable using public transport. You can leave your car at the hotel nearby.
