Germany Chapel at Hochgern, Chiemgauer Alps
Hochgern is a summit in the Chiemgau Alps that offers a beautiful and varied hike. First of all, the trail leads through dense forest up to the Hochgernhaus. This is followed by the ascent to the summit cross, which is rewarded with many panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. From the summit cross, you can then see what is probably the smallest chapel.
Photography Tips
Take a telephoto lens with you to get a minimalist view of the sun on the small chapel.
Travel Information
The tour to the summit cross takes 1100 metres in altitude, 3 1/2 hours and covers a distance of around 7.8 kilometres. Pack plenty of water. Tip: In summer, you can spend the night in the Hochgernhaus and thus save yourself a significant climb to the sunrise.
