Around Germerode Opium poppies are grown (with a low morphine content, so it's not worth stealing the capsules ;-). From end of June, you will find big fields of pink flowers with paths through the fields. However, depending on the weather, flowering only lasts about 2-3 weeks, so it's a good idea to check online at mohnbluetefrauholle.land in advance to find out exactly when flowering starts. There you find also a map on which the individual poppy fields are marked as they change every year.
The best time is around a week after the start of flowering, as there are already fields with poppy capsules.

End of June before sunrise or around sunset is the best time (als always in landscape and naturephotography)
