Well, now it is impossible to enter with any camera. It is guarded and any backpack is prohibited. Anyway, photographing while the library is open with students is also off limit. It requires special permit for visiting after hours.

Well, as it is very near the museums Island, I tried it. The entry is free, and if you go quick (of course, no tripod), you can get a shot from the upper reading room, facing the atrium, trying to annoy as less as possible to the people (you can see that the shot is not fully centered).

I'm going there end of October. Is it easy to get in there for taking photos? Their website states that a permit is necessary for tripod-based photography :-/
