Germany Eltz Castle

Eltz Castle is a well known german castle that was built in the 12th century and has never been destroyed in its history!
This spot is located right on the side of the road where the shuttle bus runs. Be careful there and keep your eyes open!

This spot should be visited in autumn. The colourful trees which surround the castle make a decent background for every shot!
You should carry a tripod and lenses that cover a focal length from 24mm to 70mm. In some situations, a polarizer can help to make the colours pop.
Depending on which time of the day you visit this spot it might be a crowded tourist attraction. All those people take photos and selfies on the bridge to the castle so often long exposures with ND filters don't even work to get rid of "ghosts". I recommend visiting the castle before the doors open and catching a marvellous sunrise which is mostly accompanied by fog that creates its mystical feeling.

Eltz Castle has its car park that costs 2 Euros.
You can reach the castle from there in two different ways. The first one is a footpath through the forest and the valley and the second one is the road where the shuttle bus runs every few minutes.
After parking your car walk to the end of the car park and take the road downhill. Don't follow the sign for the footpath, because that is a different way to the castle which doesn't lead to this spot!
I recommend walking back to the car park by taking the footpath which offers some more interesting angles.
