Germany Kehrwiederfleet
It is poetically reported that the name has its origins in the fact that here the people of Hamburg, and especially the women of Hamburg, greet the men who go to sea with the wish “Come back!” said goodbye because the Kehrwiederspitze was at the exit from the harbor into the Elbe. In fact, the name Kehrwieder is a name for a dead end in northern Germany, and on this narrow island you had to turn around again, back to the Brooks Bridge, before the Niederbaum Bridge was built (1880).
