Germany Exzenterhaus
The Exzenterhaus was designed by Berlin architect Gerhardt Spangenberg. Its base is a seven-story air raid shelter dating from 1942. Three oval, glass-clad building slabs, each five stories high, were placed on top of this. Each of the three completely glass-clad levels towers over the circular shape of the listed bunker on a different side. With a total height of 89 meters, the Exzenterhaus is a significant landmark in Bochum. The building is intended to symbolize the bridge from the past to the present.
