Germany Lüntec Tower
In 1995, the Lünen Technology Center (Lüntec) moved into the site of the closed Minister Achenbach mine. A business lounge designed by Luigi Colani was built 35 meters above the ground on the headframe of shaft 4. The Colani UFO, or Colani Egg, symbolizes the structural transformation of the Ruhr region.
Photography Tips
Opposite to the tower there is a slag heap, which - with a bit of luck - offers a view of the headframe of the former Minister Achenbach colliery through the trees. In the evenings, the tower is illuminated. The site of the former colliery is freely accessible. The Lüntec Tower is easy to photograph from all angles. A tripod is recommended in the evenings, and a wide-angle lens is recommended for the tower.
